The Treatment Process

What happens at the first session?

At the first session, you will be asked to fill out a thorough health history questionnaire, and we will discuss the issue bringing you in for acupuncture.

The first session also includes a treatment. Many people feel nothing when the needles are inserted; others may feel tiny pinch. Any minor discomfort quickly disappears.

Most people become deeply relaxed or fall asleep during treatment.

How do I prepare for an acupuncture treatment? How will I feel afterwards?

Wear loose and comfortable clothing. Don’t come hungry and don’t come full. Expect to be very relaxed after the treatment. Do not plan any strenuous or important activity immediately post-treatment.

How long are the treatment sessions?

The intake session is 90 minutes. Follow-up treatments are 60 to 75 minutes.
