How Acupuncture Works
Acupuncture works by affecting
the body’s Qi in two ways. Pain is the result of Qi
being “stuck” along the course of a pathway. Needles
are placed at the site of pain as well as further along the
channels to move the stuck energy, thereby relieving pain.
Acupuncture also works by affecting
the energetic function of the body’s organs. Health
issues arise when organ function is suppressed. Certain points
on the body affect energetic organ function, which in turn
normalizes physical organ function.
How do you know that acupuncture does work?
The short answer is that we know it
works because people get better. People have been using acupuncture
for 3000 years!
Is there any science to support acupuncture?
Yes. Numerous scientific medical
studies have been completed on acupuncture in both the U.S.
and in Europe. Most of these studies meet the gold standard
for modern scientific medical research. Medical researchers
at the National Institute for Health and the World Health
Organization have looked at all these studies and conclude
that acupuncture definitely works. See the
FAQ page and the Links
page for more information.
